Ting is an amazing carbonated grapefruit soda that was first introduced to me by my co-worker Leo at the Otheroom in Venice Beach. Upon tasting this delicious Jamaican beverage in a green bottle, I said, “wow! This reminds me of squirt.” He replied, “Nah man, it’s dis ‘ting.”
This drink would pair nicely with some Jerk Chicken or *Jamaican Patties.
*a patty is similar to a turnover mixed with cumin and curry seasonings and cayenne pepper. The firecracker taste of the Scotch bonnet, a hot pepper indigenous to Jamaica, seals the flavor.
